Driving Force Institute Case Study

CHALLENGE:

Driving Force Institute (DFI), developer of American history education materials, wanted to publish a book showcasing the importance of learning the topic. It tasked Peitho with developing something meaningful. With so many books vying for eyes, how could we ensure DFI’s would break through?

SOLUTION:

Peitho looked beyond the page to focus on DFI’s objective of growing brand awareness and reputation with K-12 history educators. Our counsel: engage your audiences in the book’s development by publishing a collection of inspiring and thought-provoking essays by American history and social studies teachers.

RESULTS:

Our outreach to curate submissions was appealing to target audiences in form and content. We prompt engineered original A.I. art, generating high engagement on social media, and our direct outreach yielded a nearly 50% response rate and elicited word of mouth marketing through professional networks. The final book features works by teachers from 20 states, many state history teachers of the year, providing DFI an eye-catching marketing asset in those states and a cadre of authors enjoying promoting the book.

National Alliance for Public Charter Schools Case Study

CHALLENGE:

By its third year, the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools had a network of 30+ state partners and a rapidly growing portfolio of advocacy activities, news, and a national conference hosting thousands. With so much to say and an array of voices saying it, the nonprofit needed strategy and structure to manage its burgeoning communications demands.

SOLUTION:

Peitho prioritized growing the Alliance’s capacity and establishing practices and systems that facilitated maximum impact: strengthen and coordinate external communications with state partners, create and propagate an aggressive calendar of news and content, and build foundational marketing tools and strategies for the Alliance’s showcase industry and public affairs events.

RESULTS:

Through an intentional and structured pattern of communications, we elevated the Alliance’s voice in media and education policy conversations, increasing understanding and support from parents and policymakers on Capitol Hill and in statehouses. Over one year we garnered 600+ media stories, created customized content and materials, and helped secure national conference presenters, speakers, and attendance that exceeded expectations. Two successive CEOs retained Peitho to prepare them for annual conference keynote speeches and to garner media exposure during the 20th year of charter schools.

GENYOUth Case Study

CHALLENGE:

Nonprofit GENYOUth, with dairy industry and education partners, was developing a report of recommendations to grow healthier school communities. To make their vision a reality, Peitho partnered with leading marketing firm MMS Education to formulate positioning and plans to generate enthusiasm, buy-in, and support across the nation. Then COVID arrived, completely shifting the school community landscape.

SOLUTION:

Adapting thoughtfully to changing circumstances and audience priorities is fundamental for effective communications. We advised GENYOUth that by expanding the report’s focus and communications to highlight pandemic issues and whole-child student wellness, they would be in a prime position to play a leadership role in a turbulent time.

RESULTS:

Six months into the pandemic, GENYOUth was prepared with our communications tools and strategy, used by local advocates nationwide to reach and attract community partners: a report addressing concerns at the forefront of everyone’s agendas; a tool kit of messages and materials with practice and policy solutions; a series of forums featuring experts and best practices; and a public affairs engagement plan with customized approaches to persuade influential stakeholders to commit to healthier students and school communities.
